About Me

Alex Ray Origami Artist and Tutor
Alex Ray – Origami Artist and Tutor

I am an Origami Artist and Tutor based in Bristol. I have been folding Origami models for over 20 years and it has become my aim to teach others how to fold incredible models from paper. When I was eight years old my dad taught me how to make a traditional samurai hat from a square piece of paper. Now I have reached the stage where I am able to enjoy folding complex models, which sometimes involve following many steps, hundreds of folds and a bit of patience to create one model.

I have a BAEd Primary Education with Art Specialism and I am DBS checked. I aim to make sure that everyone of my students leaves their Origami sessions both having learned something new and having had a great experience.

My Origami workshops are in person or remote and are suitable for anyone aged 6 and above.

Examples of past and forthcoming Origami workshops:

  • Staff wellbeing sessions and training days
  • Children’s parties
  • Scouts, Beavers and Cubs groups
  • 1:1 or group tutoring
  • Holiday and after school clubs
